Daily Reflections October 19

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my reflections for the day. It’s been a tough one, but I’m determined to make the most of it.

Today I refrained from drinking, and it was really tough. But I know that I can do it and that in doing so, I’m taking another step on my road to recovery. Wish me luck!

The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered.TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, pp. 21-22

As a young boy, I was always in trouble with the teachers and other children. They called me “friendless” because nobody wanted to be my friend; but then one day as luck would have it-I found Alcoholics Anonymous!

When we first walked through these doors everything about them said ‘unhappy,’ which is exactly what our lives had become…

But inside there were people who cared for us more than anyone else ever could or did before then -we felt loved again just by being among such good friends all trying together not only live happier lives themselves but make sure others can experience this too’.

If you’re like me, then there’s no need to be alone or afraid of the unknown. I am not ashamed that my addiction has taken its toll on me and my life; in fact, it is because of this knowledge that I know how much hope A.A. offers to someone who wants help with their alcoholism problem.

You can find power outside yourself at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting center near you – they are waiting for you too!
