Gratitude should go forward, rather than backward.AS BILL SEES IT, p. 29
I am very grateful that my Higher Power has given me a second chance to live a worthwhile life. Through Alcoholics Anonymous, I have been restored to sanity and the promises are being fulfilled in every aspect of it!
The days where drinking controlled my thoughts or actions seem like such an eternity ago because now they’re just memories; all thanks go back up here (points skyward) for giving this gift of sobriety which allows one not only peace inside themself but also freedom from mental slavery.
The ability to move forward without regretting what could’ve happened if you were still poisoned by alcohol addiction.
I am grateful that AA has given me a second chance to live a worthwhile life. My Higher Power and this program have restored my sanity and led me out of the slavery of alcohol addiction.
The promises are being fulfilled in my life, but gratitude should go forward rather than backward. Today is the only day we can stay sober on Twelfth-Step calls or past meetings; let’s put our gratitude into action today by carrying the message to others who still suffer from alcoholism.
