Under very trying conditions I have had, again and again, to forgive others – also myself.AS BILL SEES IT, p. 268

Forgiveness of self and others is a necessary step to live a happy life.

In my opinion, the Steps Of A provide me with an understanding that resentment has blocked this flow in my own personal river while also providing ways for both currents – resentments forgiveness-to find their way back into being free again.

It is important to understand that forgiveness of self and forgiveness of others are just two currents in the same river.

Both currents can be hindered or shut off completely by the dam of resentment. Once this dam is lifted, both currents can flow freely again as they were intended to do from the beginning.

A solution like The Steps provides a way for me to see how resentments have built up and subsequently blocked off these flows in my life; it also gives me an answer on what I need to do about them.

When I finally let go, forgive myself and others through God’s help, there will hopefully come peace within my soul once more!
