In the depths of my darkness, A.A offered hope and a pathway out. I embraced recovery with courage as I faced up to life’s emptiness; attending meetings, staying sober and taking action through the 12 Step program opened me up to listening deeply within myself for that faithfulness which had been missing from my life—and in this process, found My Higher Power along side me on the journey.

Each day brought new glimmers of optimism filled with gratitude for finally recognizing His presence there all along!

To this day, I remain in recovery and look back on that fateful day when I entered A.A. I’m forever grateful for the path to healing it gave me; without it, I’d still be spiraling within the depths of loneliness and depression.

Stepping out of my comfort zone, allowing myself to receive help, has been a major turning point in my life. It came with tremendous courage, hope and faith that in spite of all pain endured, life will objectively improve. For anyone who is struggling and feels like they are all alone — know that you don’t have to walk this journey by your self.

Through support groups like A.A., there is always light at the end of the tunnel if you conquer your fears and take that first bold step into recovery. Together, we can face our struggles head-on and come out stronger than ever before!
