When dealing with an alcoholic, there may be a natural annoyance that a man could be so weak, stupid and irresponsible. Even when you understand the malady better, you may feel this feeling rising. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 139


When I feel that way, it is satisfying my false sense of superiority and there go I.
I should understand the illness but sometimes with all these people who cannot make A.A.,

They seem like an annoyance or even worse-a contemptible person in need nothing more than help from their fellow addicts; yet we’re still supposed to be able recognize them as partakers just like us? It doesn’t make any sense at all!
