These reflections are to help you reflect on your life and the things that may have been left behind. This is an opportunity for you to keep track of what’s going on in your life so we can all see how far you’ve come!

I used to think that my Eighth Step list was dragging me into a whirlpool of resentment. After four years, I finally broke through the denial and now know what it feels like when those words are written from head to heart instead of just in your thoughts.

I remember how much time went by without letting myself create even one painting because all of this big secret inside got bottled up with nowhere for anything but anger or sadness to go- until there came an explosion on paper as reds, black and yellow brushes found themselves free at last!

I found myself in tears when I saw my artwork for the first time in a long while.

I found that recovery is a process of life-long learning and growth. Sobriety gave me the opportunity to learn how my defects cause pain, but also show me where there’s room for change in order to grow in character.

Recovery has helped me become aware of the truths about myself which weren’t available when I was using drugs or alcohol.
