Daily Reflections September 8

As we approach the end of summer, many of us are taking stock of our lives and making resolutions for the coming year.

Maybe you’ve decided to cut down on drinking, or to stop drinking altogether. If so, you’re definitely not alone.

Millions of people around the world struggle with alcohol addiction every day. But it’s not always easy to quit cold turkey.

That’s why I’m starting this blog series: to provide a daily reflection for those trying to overcome alcoholism. Each day will offer support and advice, as well as a glimpse into my own journey towards sobriety.

We asked His protection and care with complete abandon. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 59

When I realized that my life was a mess and there wasn’t any hope for me, it felt like the end of all hope.

But then something happened-a voice came into mine saying “It’s okay to let go.” And just as quickly as he spoke these words in confidence ̶ they were spoken smoothly followed by an angelic choir singing hallelujah!

My whole being flooded with relief: physically sick from stress–I fell down at this man’s feet telling him how sorry I am…

The more I learn, the less I know — a humbling fact — but I sincerely enjoy a freedom that is liberating and exciting.

My life has been transformed by this Higher Power who loves me unconditionally in spite of my “ultimate sin,” because He knows that His love can heal me from all harm.

If you have an addiction or think your life may be spiraling out of control, please talk to someone about it today!

You are not alone, so don’t give up hope on yourself just yet!”
