My sponsees taught me a new way of loving. Despite my self-doubt, I was able to show respectful and genuine care for them as individuals – something seemingly lost before the program took hold.

This newfound ability has been an astounding gift that’s kept me sober more times than I can count; filling me with immense gratitude along each step of my journey!

Reading this reflection, I hope we can find ways to cultivate our shared ability to love responsibly and sincerely. In times when old habits try to creep in, it’s important to remember that sobriety can bring immense gratitude and joy that fills us with the strength and courage needed to carry on.

Through daily reflections like these, may we each come a little closer to being unified by such beautiful emotions and begin a journey of connection and understanding towards one another.

Most importantly, let us continue to support those in our community who are struggling with addiction – and believe that they can rise above it – with love, tenderness, and grace. May we all never forget the miraculous power of sponsorship.
