Each day offers a new opportunity to reflect on our lives and make changes when necessary. Today, October 6, is no different.
If you are an alcoholic, it’s important to take stock of your progress – or lack thereof – and adjust your course accordingly.
Remember, nobody is perfect; we all make mistakes. The key is to learn from them and move forward. Keep that in mind as you reflect on today’s events. Sobriety is a journey, not a destination. Stay strong!
Daily Reflections October 6
. . . and Fear says, “You dare not look!”TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 49
What a difference sobriety has made! The first time I was asked to do an inventory of myself, my fear got the best of me and it took all my courage just get up from behind that desk.
But now as soon as we start talking about what’s really important in life–like facing our fears head-on instead or running away like cowards (no pun intended)–it becomes easier because this task doesn’t seem so daunting after all;
There are even some fun tasks included on these inventories which makes them less intimidating than you might think at first glance: searching fearless moral.
I am now at a point in my life where that fear is no longer present. It has been replaced with something entirely different, which is the desire to grow and learn more about myself through whatever task it may be—even if it means facing some of my personal demons head on.
The only thing holding me back from accomplishing this goal are those moments when I let doubt creep into my mind or take over completely.
But as soon as I push past these thoughts and embrace what might happen next, not just for me but also for others who can benefit from seeing someone like me move forward confidently despite their fears, all seems possible again. There’s nothing so intimidating after all!
