Daily Reflections January 30

If you’re an alcoholic, then you know that every day is a battle. But even on the worst days, there’s always something to be grateful for.

Today, I’m grateful for my sober support system and for the progress I’ve made in my recovery. I’m also grateful for the chance to start each day fresh, with a clean slate.

We are going to know a new freedom. . . .ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 83

Freedom is a complicated term. When I think about the word “free,” it takes on many different meanings in my life and how they relate to alcohol addiction recovery- freedom from fear, economic insecurity, commitment issues like job loss or failure; even things we might call ‘rejection.’

But at various points during each day there are moments when you can feel completely weightless without any chains holding you back while experiencing peace of mind as well as love from others around us who care deeply for our wellbeing too!

Freedom is the experience of achieving your potential. And I believe that YOU are capable of this too. You can achieve freedom from fear, alcohol addiction and even insecurity by making a choice every day to be sober today.

Let me help you get started with these two choices so you can stop worrying about what might happen in the future and just enjoy life’s gifts now!
