If you’re an alcoholic, then you know that every day is a constant battle. You never really know what’s going to happen, and you can never let your guard down. But even on the worst days, there is always hope.
Today, take a few minutes to reflect on your progress, and remember that you are not alone. There is help available, and you can beat this disease if you keep fighting. You are worth it.

Who wishes to be rigorously honest and tolerant? Who wants to confess his faults to another and make restitution for harm done? Who cares anything about a Higher Power, let alone meditation and prayer? Who wants to sacrifice time and energy in trying to carry A.A.’s message to the next sufferer? No, the average alcoholic, self-centered in the extreme, doesn’t care for this prospect — unless he has to do these things in order to stay alive himself.TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 24
I am an alcoholic. If I drink, it will be the death of me; but as long as this statement remains true then all that’s needed for today is a simple answer: Am/Would You Like To Stay Alive And Keep Your Sobriety?
