Daily Reflections January 15

With few exceptions our members find that they have tapped an unsuspected inner resource which they presently identify with their own conception of a Power greater than themselves.ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, pp. 567-68

From my first days in A.A., as I struggled for sobriety, these words from our founders became a guiding light: “they have tapped an unsuspected inner resource.”

How could one find the power within themselves when they were so powerless?

But then came time after day spent working through Twelve Steps which helped me discover that this too-long concealed Power greater than myself is actually original gift – yours by birthright but unrealized until achieving daily sobriety with living A man’s way of life; suddenly everything changed because now there was something worth fighting For again!

I am now a man of self-confidence and dignity, with an inner peace that is stronger than any external force.

The Power greater than myself has been revealed to me as the God of my understanding who can be reached by prayer or meditation at all times; he sustains me in every hour through his grace.

And because this power lives within us, we are never alone.
